If it’s a tie at the end of the 1 hour game, the player who netted the fish first will win.
Each player will use a cap to attach a head cam for a second view camera. (We will explain and sort it for you)
Each player needs to provide their own controller (umpire/camera man), a mobile phone or device and download the zoom app on their device. (a battery pack connected to phone while running is recommended)
The controller can not assist the angler in any way or form – this means no helping with setting up fly rods, tying leaders or carrying rods and so on, Controller is just there to film and make sure the competitor is on the screen the whole session during game play hour. This means if a competitor is fishing behind a tree the controller needs to get into position to get the competitor on screen otherwise fish score during not being visible to camera, the score will not count.
The final scores during the live session will be a preliminary final score and there will be a 30 minutes assessment by the international judges to assess the game and the Final score card and winner will be announced 30 minutes after each game.
Competitors must start your match from the bank of the river, not the middle of the river.
Competitors must decide on a time with their opponent for their game in real time and notify the organiser – (Josh Walker) at least 3 days in advance. (due to different timezones around the world)
Full fish must past the rim of the net to count.
When fish is caught player must hold the fish in the net up in the air to show and the controller and controller shout out “FISH for Their competitors name” for the fish to count.
If controller misses a fish caught and the judges can clearly see the fish caught and released they can add that fish score to the final result after review.
Players must choose location them self
Once you enter the river the maximum length of the beat is 1000m from where you enter the river.
Maximum 3 rods and maximum 3 flies
Only aloud to fish 1 rod at a time
All competition games must be fished in daylight hours
If you hook a fish on the buzzer you have a maximum of 2 minutes over time to net the fish for it to count.
Please check the reception on your favourite fishing spot as it is your duty to fish at a location with good reception.
If the reception gets disconnected or is cut off for any reason, there is NO fish score for that competitor until after reconnection for them. Time lost during the disconnection is NOT added onto the time fishing as it is the competitors duty to stay connected for full fishing time to score during the 1 hour.
Leader length can only be a maximum twice the length of the rod
Controller needs to stay close enough to player to film via the mobile phone.
Player has to be seen to release the fish to count.
There are 4 judges – Main judge = Josh Walker also 3 other assistant judges with international competition experience. Assistant judges will be named closer to the event.
Any concerns, the player must lodge a complaint via email to (josh@flyfishlive.com) within 2 hrs of the end or start of a match.
The 4 judges will look at any complaints and give an answer within 24hrs of lodged complain
